Notes August 5, 2008

Location: Cloud Oakes’ House

Present: Board Members (with representation): Richard Anderson (at large), David Bauermeister (NABC), Jane Burton-Bell (ARC) (present for two agenda items), Candace Jagel (WSU Ext.), Elaine Kendall (SJIFMA), Cloud Oakes (at large), Bill Watson (EDC)

Absent: Bruce Gregory (CD), Greg Hertel (Port of FH), Rick Hughes (OIFM), Rebecca Moore (SJIFMA), Suzy Pingree (at large), Madden Surbaugh (restaurants), Rob Waldron (IGFC), Peggy Weir (SJIFMA)

The meeting convened at 4:45 p.m. We welcomed Richard Anderson, who has replaced Megan Jones as an at-large representative on the board.

MINUTES

Because we did not have a quorum, we were unable to approve the July minutes.

FUNDRAISING

Fundraising dinner on August 24.

Action item: Elaine and Grisha will coordinate sign ups.

Agreed by consensus: We need to create a “bricks-and-mortar” account to go towards property purchase, facility construction, and other project costs.

Action item: Each Ag Guild board member needs to find two more silent auction items, valued between $25 and $100, and get these to Cloud.

Action item: Grisha will send out a request for silent auction items to all SJIFMA members.

Action item: Cloud will check on transportation for the Waldron farm tour auction item.

Action item: Candace will check on the WSU sound system to see if it is suitable and available. Richard will check with Brent Snow to see if he has a system.

Action item: Lovel will organize auction speakers. Cloud will ask Suzy to get Lovel the menu so that she can speak with the farmers.

PM REPORT

Lovel had e-mailed her report earlier.

Action item: Grisha will speak with Curt Van Hyning to explain the RMA.

TREASURER'S REPORT

No report this month.

Action item: David will produce a monthly report from NABC for CTED reporting purposes. He will submit the report to Bill.

CONFLICT OF INTEREST STATEMENT

Action item: Bill will get a copy of the Ag Guild conflict of interest policy to Cathy Cavenaugh to see if it is sufficient for IRS purposes.

OFFICIAL AG GUILD RECORD KEEPING

Action item: As secretary, Candace will assemble and maintain this record.
