Negotiating a purchase and sales agreement for the Nichols Street property continues as a high priority activity.
The co-sponsored Farmers’ Market/Ag Guild Harvest Dinner & Auction fundraiser will take place at 6 PM, Saturday, September 26th at the Mullis Center. Tickets priced at $75 are on sale at Griffin Bay Book Store and the Market Chef. Or you can host a table of 8 by contacting Elaine Kendall.
Table linens and place settings will be provided. We need volunteers to display their artistic talents by creating beautiful centerpieces—- with a harvest theme.
Mark Madsen is drawing up a list of food items and tasks for which we need volunteers. He will be sending it out shortly, so watch for it. He will also discuss details at the meeting after the market this coming Saturday, September 12.
Finally, don’t forget that Jane needs auction items.
The Ag Guild will join the ARC and SJI Library in sponsoring the film “Island on the Edge” at the library on Saturday, October 3rd at 6:30 PM,
Nick Versteeg will present his
documentary film, which features food producers and farmers of Vancouver Island and how they struggle to provide a continuous, healthy food supply in the face of corporate agricultural conglomerates. He will lead a discussion and answer questions after the screening.
